Your Ultimate Guide to Real Estate on Chicago's North Shore

3rd Annual Kenilworth Gardens Neighborhood Yard Sale

Kenilworth Gardens Yard SaleThe Come Home North Shore real estate team is sponsoring the third annual Kenilworth Gardens Neighborhood Yard Sale on Saturday, May 17.

If you live in the neighborhood and want to participate, it’s easy.  All you have to do is go to our new interactive website and sign up (it’s free). That way your home will be on the interactive map that shows shoppers which houses are participating. Or, if you prefer, just drop us a line and tell us you want in.  On sale day put prices on your merchandise, drag it outside and welcome the hoards of buyers that are bound to show up on sale day. That’s it. We’ll supply the signs and the advertising to ensure we get a good turnout.

If you’re not from the neighborhood, we hope you’ll stop  by and check out all the wonderful “treasures” we’ll be selling. I’m sure you’ll see lots of stuff you didn’t know you needed!

Here are the details:

When: Saturday, May 17 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Where: Beechwood, Kenilworth, Chestnut, Thornwood, Greenwood,  Elmwood and Hunter (north of Lake Ave. and west of Ridge Rd.) in Wilmette

Fall Rummage Sales on the North Shore – 2013

Rummage sale Winnetka CommunityHouse

There’s nothing like a good rummage sale to get my shopping juices flowing. Even my husband and kids have become converts. At one of last spring’s sales I gave my twelve year old daughter ten dollars and she came home with two pairs of shorts, four T-shirts and nine hockey pucks. She was thrilled. I tried to bribe her with another ten bucks if she’d buy a cute dress we saw, but no dice. My husband scored five nice golf shirts (two of them still in their plastic wrapping).  I got a lantern for the screened porch and a salad bowl to replace the one the dogs knocked off the counter and broke. My son wasn’t with us on that particular shopping trip but in the past he has been the annual recipient of a “new” navy blue blazer to replace the one bought at the prior year’s rummage sale and outgrown after two or three wearings.

So, after a rummage-less summer, we get to go back at it again, starting next week. Here’s a rundown of all the rummage sales on the North Shore this fall:

Kenilworth Gardens Neighborhood Yard Sale

Yard Sale in Kenilworth GardensI do love to purge my house of stuff we no longer use, though you’d never know that if you came over to my house right now and saw the piles of clutter everywhere. Normally I just haul everything over to the rummage sale at my church, but this year my daughter is dying to have a yard sale. Which got me to thinking that it would be a lot more fun to make it a neighborhood event.

So, our Come Home North Shore team has decided to sponsor the first annual Kenilworth Gardens Neighborhood Yard Sale. If you live in the neighborhood and want to participate, it’s easy.  All you have to do is drop us a line and tell us you want in, then put prices on your merchandise, drag it outside and welcome the hoards of buyers that are bound to show up on sale day. That’s it. We’ll supply the signs and the advertising to ensure we get a good turnout.

If you’re not from the neighborhood, we hope you’ll stop  by and check out all the wonderful “merchandise” we’ll be selling. I’m sure you’ll see lots of stuff you didn’t know you needed!

Here are the details:

When: Saturday, May 19 from 8:00 am to noon. (But you can start and stop whenever you want…we are not the yard sale police).

Where: Beechwood, Kenilworth, Chestnut, Thornwood, Greenwood and Elmwood Avenues (west of Ridge Rd.) in Wilmette

What to know more? Give us a call at 847-881-6657 or email us.
