Go Green Wilmette Sponsors “Genetic Roulette”
A Documentary About the Effect of Genetically Modified Organisms in Our Food Supply
When: Wednesday Nov. 14th 1:00 p.m.
Where: Wilmette Public Library, 1242 Wilmette Ave., 847-256-6935, www.wilmettelibrary.info
Have you ever wondered why certain diseases and conditions like Alzeimer’s, celiac disease and autism have increased so dramatically over the past few decades?
This powerful documentary provides compelling evidence that changes in our food supply are to blame, and challenges the biotech industry’s claim that genetically modified (GM) foods are safe.
Based on the book of the same name by Jeffrey Smith, the film presents the concerns of scientists and farmers about the food and health issues related to increased GMO production and outlines why they want foods containing GMOs to be, at the very least, labeled.
This event will be held in the library’s auditorium (lower level) and is free to the public. An optional discussion will follow the film.
