Your Ultimate Guide to Real Estate on Chicago's North Shore

Chiasso Brings Modern Design to the North Shore

If your style of interior design runs toward contemporary, you’ll want to check out Chiasso, which opened late last fall at 108 Skokie Boulevard in Wilmette.

Chiasso (pronounced key-AH-so) is Italian for uproar. The store sells modern furniture and decorative accessories. According to store manager Dave Spaulding, Chiasso’s wares are also more affordable than Design Within Reach or West Elm.

Most of the company’s sales are from its catalog business but its Chicago store (at 2112 N. Clybourn) has been so successful that they decided to expand out to the burbs.

One of Chiasso’s best sellers is its bar stools, and they’ve got great ones: simple, sleek and comfortable. Office chairs are another popular item.

What I really like about Chiasso is the sense of fun it brings to interior design. There’s nothing stark or sterile about Chiasso’s merchandise. Yes, the furniture is sleek and modern but it’s all meant to be combined in creative ways and the accessories bring a touch a whimsy to any decor.

You really should check it out next time you’re on your way to Old Orchard. And Chiasso is offering our readers a 15% discount*  if you mention our team (Come Home North Shore) or this blog (North Shore Views).

*Discount not valid with gift cards or on previously purchased items.
