Come down to the beach with Dad dressed in your favorite baseball team’s apparel. The beach will be transformed into a baseball stadium where you can enjoy some Cracker Jacks, eggs and flapjacks with the lake as a back-drop. There will also be baseball themed activities to enjoy with Dad.

Father’s Day Canoe Adventure

Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Rd., Glencoe
Saturday and Sunday, June 16 and 17

Enjoy a rare opportunity to canoe the lakes of the Botanic Garden. Bob Kirschner, the Garden’s aquatic biologist, will paddle along and explain the Garden’s nationally recognized program to restore and enhance its miles of lake shore. Herons, ducks, small fish, turtles and frogs will greet you as you explore the watery habitat. No canoeing experience necessary. Canoes, life jackets, paddles and instruction provided.

Ricky Byrdsong Race Against Hate

The Ricky Byrdsong Memorial Race Against Hate, now in its thirteenth year, was launched to honor Ricky’s legacy and bring attention to the need to combat hatred in all its forms.
