Your Ultimate Guide to Real Estate on Chicago's North Shore

New Lakefront Listings on Chicago’s North Shore

A few months ago I wrote about the unusual number of lakefront homes available for sale on the North Shore of Chicago. A handful of those homes have sold but some gorgeous new properties have recently come on the market to take their place:

2445 woodbridge lane, highland park

2445 Woodbridge Lane,  Highland Park   –   $9,800,000

It’s hard to get a feel for it from the photograph, but this 1928 French Normandy home sits on one and a half acres at the end of a winding lane. It has 17 large rooms, many of which enjoy a lake view, as well as a private beach and a pool. While it feels far removed from civilization, this home is actually within walking distance of schools, town and train.

191 Sheridan Rd., Winnetka191 Sheridan Rd., Winnetka   –   $7,995,000

This Winnetka lakefront home, also built in 1928, looks like it stepped right out of a fairy tale. It is situated on one acre just north of Winnetka Avenue. With 14 rooms it has every amenity you can think of, including two first floor master suites, a fabulous Benuti and Stein kitchen, temperature controlled conservatory, grill room, two wine cellars and an underground garage.

439 Sheridan Rd. Kenilworth   –   $7,695,000

This home on nine tenths of beautiful beachfront just came on the market. Built in 1958, it was recently recently renovated. It features a large reception hall, DeGiulio kitchen, formal living and dining rooms, family room and den.  All of the upstairs baths have private en suite baths.

41 S. Stonegate Rd., Lake Forest
41 S. Stonegate Rd., Lake Forest   –   $6,200,000

This Lake Forest estate has 3.3 acres and 125 feet of sandy shoreline.  When it’s too cold to swim in the lake, there’s an indoor pool to enjoy. Nearly all of its 13 rooms have lake views and the estate also has a greenhouse, pier with crane and paved walkway to the beach. This home was featured in a 2005 issue of Better Homes and Gardens.

34 Logan Loop, Highland Park34 Logan Loop, Highland Park   –   $3,495,000

This historic home was built in 1890 and designed by architects Holabird and Roche. Surrounded on three sides by park, ravine and lake this home offers both privacy and gorgeous views.

2714 sheridan rd, highland park
2714 Sheridan Rd., Highland Park   –   $2,199,000

Picture yourself sipping lemonade on the porch and gazing at the blue water as the kids play croquet on the lawn. It’s almost like being on vacation at Mackinac Island, without even leaving home. It’s even got a pool and large deck for entertaining. The great thing about this house is that you enjoy all the benefits of being on the lake but you don’t have to pay lakefront taxes, because the house sits on the west side of the lane.
