Glencoe Park District Dares You to Leap in the Lake
How brave are you? The Glencoe Park District wants to know.
To celebrate its 100th anniversary, the Glencoe Park District is challenging residents to take a dip in the chilly winter waters of Lake Michigan on February 25th. But don’t worry, full submersion is not required. Even a toe dip will count. Afterwards, you can warm up with hot chocolate or coffee in the warming area and meet with Watts Center mascot, Wattson the Polar Bear.
“Leap in the Lake” is a fundraiser for the Glencoe Park District’s Community Access for Recreation for Everyone (C.A.R.E.) Scholarship Fund. C.A.R.E. was established to offset registration fees for community members in need of financial assistance. It enables eligible Glencoe residents to benefit from Park District programs and activities, regardless of financial status.
So man up and support a great cause!
